Kapitel von Charles Dickens&#8217; Roman David Copperfield als Beispielsatz f\u00fcr die Konjunktion &#8220;as if&#8221;.<br>Und wirklich ist ein Gro\u00dfteil des Romans, insbesondere Copperfields Beschreibung der Kindheit und Jugendzeit, von einem spielerischen, oft erfrischend-naiven &#8220;Als-ob-Charakter&#8221; gepr\u00e4gt. Dem Leser bekannte Gesten werden in eine neue Umgebung gebracht (z.B. die Sichtweise des Kindes). Mit den Augen des Kindes erscheinen die Dinge seltsam fremd. Routinen werden durchbrochen.<br>In musikalischer Analogie versucht dieses &#8220;As if&#8221; darauf aufmerksam zu machen, dass jedes musikalisches Material, jedes musikalische Element sein ganz eigenes (auch historisches) Umfeld mit sich bringt. In diesem hat es eine bestimmte Bedeutung, wird aber als Material\/Element dadurch nicht grunds\u00e4tzlich definiert. Es zeigt sich nur eine &#8220;M\u00f6glichkeit&#8221; welche in das Material hinein erfunden wird. Das Material erscheint nun mit dieser &#8220;M\u00f6glichkeit&#8221; (insofern diese dem H\u00f6rer bekannt ist). Der kompositorisch-\u00e4sthetische Prozess ist immer zum Teil die Losl\u00f6sung von einer solchen, zum Teil die Schaffung einer neuen &#8220;M\u00f6glichkeit&#8221;, verbunden mit dem k\u00fcnstlerischen Vorgang, diese als Notwendigkeit erscheinen zu lassen. Das Material ist dann der \u00dcbergang zur individuellen Form, ein Wegweiser.<br><br>&#8220;People can&#8217;t die, along the coast,&#8221; said Mr. Pegotty, &#8220;except when the tide&#8217;s pretty nigh out\u2026<br>(David Copperfield, Kapitel 30)<br><br>Auch das geh\u00f6rt zum Komponieren: Die Lust am L\u00fcgen und aus der L\u00fcge eine Realit\u00e4t zu machen, welche in unser Leben hineinwirkt. Und: Sich von Zw\u00e4ngen zu befreien, dabei neue Zw\u00e4nge schaffend.<br><br>\u2026&#8217;the system&#8217; put an end to all doubts, and disposed of all anomalies. Nobody appeared to have the least idea that there was any other system, but THE system, to be considered.<br>(David Copperfield, Kapitel 61)<br><br>Das Gewaltsame des &#8220;einen Systems&#8221; mag mitunter notwendig sein. So staut sich die Energie, bis pl\u00f6tzlich &#8220;ein Anderes&#8221; aufblitzt.<br>In der deutschen \u00dcbersetzung l\u00e4sst Gustav Meyrink diesen Satz poetischer und geheimnisvoller klingen, als im englischen Original:<br><br>Niemand schien die geringste Ahnung zu haben, dass es noch ein anderes &#8220;System&#8221; geben k\u00f6nnte als dieses hier.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As if for clarinet, cello and piano (2017)(11 min.)
